February 21: Support for the recycling of metal packaging through the European waste directive could be one result of a vote last week by MEPs in Brussels.
Although the waste directive regards the re-use of packaging as preferable to recycling – a position that supports refillable bottles for example – it is understood that the practical application of the directive at member state level will favour recycling. And that’s good news for the metal can.
