Last year more than 59 billion beverage cans were shipped by canmakers in Europe to customers in the beer and soft drinks industries, a 3.6 percent increase on 2011, as revealed today by industry body Beverage Can Makers Europe (BCME), which represents canmaking firms Ball, Crown and Rexam.
