Europe’s steel packaging lowers carbon emissions

A study to assess the environmental footprint of tinplate production has concluded that the steel for packaging industry in Europe has lowered its global warming potential (mainly CO2 emissions) by 9 percent over two years. In addition to this, acidification dropped by 6 percent, eutrophication by 11 percent and primary energy demand by 3 percent.
