Expansion for polyester-coated aerosol can manufacturer

November 29: DS Containers, the aerosol canmaking firm that has been pioneering the manufacture of two-piece polyester-coated steel containers in the US, is expected to significantly expand its capacity with the commissioning of two additional production lines early next year.

 

Set up five years ago using technology from Japan’s Daiwa Can, the plant at Batavia in Illinois has been installing a third line to produce 211 (66mm) diameter cans in addition to the two original lines for making 211×604 and 211×713 sizes. The fourth line will be tooled for a 205 (58mm) diameter in two available heights.
