With six new beverage can lines and two new plants starting production in growing markets last year, Crown Holdings, the world’s largest canmaking firm, reported year-end sales up 8.8 percent at US$8.64 billion, and fourth quarter sales of $2.06bn, up 5.6 percent.
Chief executive of US-based Crown John Conway said: “Despite the challenging business conditions in Europe and North America, the company performed well overall in our seasonally smaller fourth quarter.”
Overall sales were slightly higher than Ball Corporation, which reported its results earlier this week.
