April 4: Fire has almost completely destroyed a beverage can manufacturing plant in Germany.
The fire, at Ball Packaging Europe’s plant at Hassloch, started at 5am on Saturday, 1 April. Attempts by the 22 night-shift workers failed to bring it under control. It took 270 fire fighters to put out the fire in half an hour.
