September 17: The future of struggling canmaking machinery manufacturer Frattini was in the balance yesterday when Battista Corti, the chief executive of Polytype, a prospective purchaser, reportedly addressed workers at the factory in Bergamo, Italy.
Frattini’s machinery division – which makes necking systems for aerosols and bottles – was placed in liquidation at the beginning of August following a resolution by stockholders, and put under the control of a public notary.
