April 8: Work on Eastern Europe’s latest beverage canmaking plant starts in two week’s time with the ground-breaking ceremony in Slovakia of Crown’s first beverage can venture into the region.
The factory, being constructed at Kechnec, will enable Crown Bevcan Europe and Middle East to make “an improved offer to target Eastern Europe customers”, according to company staff at the Gulf Pack show in Dubai this week.
With an initial capacity of 750 million aluminium cans a year and room for a second line, the plant’s construction will start on April 22 with the ground breaking ceremony being carried out by Kechnec’s Mayor Konkoly and other local dignitaries.
