March 16: Anticipated demand for aluminium drinks cans in India has prompted Hindalco to plan the country’s first rolling mill for canstock.
Mumbai-based Hindalco, which bought world-leading canstock producer Novelis in 2007, has acquired land at Hirakud in Orissa. It is thought to be adjacent to Hindalco’s power plant at the Hirakud Dam. (Updated March 17).
