HMD Inks Co, a Chinese manufacturer of canmaking inks and coatings with a regional sales and marketing office in Singapore, is replacing all its epoxy-based coatings with BPA-NI chemistries while expanding capacity to meet global demand and regulations.
Speaking to The Canmaker at this year’s Metpack show in Germany, managing director Kim Hann Goh, and David Quek, director of international sales and marketing, said the company has a timeline to make the change, in time for the first regulation coming into force in Europe in July.
Quek also added: “Currently, we are producing coatings for two-piece and three-piece [cans], so both capacities are increasing, especially on the coatings side.”
