Impress completes deal in Australasia

November 1: Europe-based canmaker Impress has completed its acquisition of food and aerosol can operations in Australia and New Zealand from Melbourne-based Amcor Group.
The deal involves seven canmaking facilities for steel food cans, easy open ends and peelable ends that supply key food markets including ready meals, dairy, fruit and vegetables as well as steel and aluminium aerosol cans for cosmetics, air fresheners, and insecticides.
The operations have annual sales of about €150 million (US$216m) and employ around 600.
