November 8: The new Impress plant in the US dedicated to the manufacture of easy-open food ends is officially opened tomorrow just two years after the project was first given the go-ahead and 14 months after construction started.
The facility at Conklin, New York, will be making advanced lightweight tinplate full-aperture easy open ends for the food canning industry. The ends have been developed for the North American market at the Impress research & development centre at Crosmières in France where 0.18mm ends were designed for the European market.
