Packaging’s key role in cutting food waste was highlighted at the Save Food conference that opened in Düsseldorf on Monday.

Organised by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, the conference attracted speakers including Ilse Aigner, German Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection; Nestlé’s Philippe Roulet, head of Global Packaging, Material and Training; Rexam Beverage Can Europe and Asia’s business development director Welf Jung; Dr Chip Tonkin, director of the Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics; and Europen’s managing director Julian Carroll.
