Innovation means team work for Brasilata

November 5: Brazilian canmaker Brasilata has been selected as one of the ten most innovative companies in the country by a leading business magazine.

 

The magazine, Época Negócios, has been collaborating with international consulting firm A T Kearney to find the best companies based on criteria such as structure and support on behalf of innovation as well as sustainability and the results of innovation.

Chief executive of Brasilata, Antonio Teixeira (pictured), will be outlining how the canmaker has become a leading innovator at the Canmaker Summit next week in São Paulo, Brazil. He joins top executives from the global canmaking industry and its supply industries on Thursday and Friday, November 11-12, at the Sofitel São Paulo Ibirapuera. The event will also include presentation of The Canmaker magazine Cans of the Year Awards 2010 at a gala dinner on the evening of November 11.

Brasilata’s innovation culture has been developed since 1987 when an internal suggestion system was introduced. “Innovation can only be sustained within an organization when this goal becomes the responsibility of all involved,” said Teixeira. “Employee involvement from the factory floor all the way up to the key management is a fundamental characteristic of innovative enterprises. Based on this theory supported in academic studies, Brasilata has won recognition from specialists, in the Best Innovator study.
