International business drives Coca-Cola's growth

Global soft drinks leader Coca-Cola reported a strong second quarter for its international business with volume growth of 6 percent.

Overall operating profit in the quarter was up 15 percent to US$3.2 billion, while reported net sales was $12.7bn, a gain of 47 percent. Coca-Cola said this reflected a growth in concentrate sales, currency benefits, and the integration in North America of bottler Coca-Cola Enterprises.
