April 26: Production at Iraq’s first two-piece beverage canmaking plant is expected to start in July. The Middle East Packaging Materials plant at Baghdad is owned by the local Pepsi franchise owner in which Jordan-based soft drinks maker Neba has a share.

The plant has been under construction for about two years by Dubai based NDH Group and has two D&I lines with a total capacity of 2.5 billion cans a year, which will make the plant the biggest of its kind in the Middle East.
