Iraq’s first drinks can plant running 24/7

Iraq’s first two-piece beverage can plant is now operating 24 hours a day, producing 25cl aluminium cans for a number of local customers, says the company that built it.

The plant owned by Middle East Packaging Materials Company (Mepac) at Harith Yahya, a suburb of Baghdad, has two production lines with the second for making 33cl cans expected to be commissioned during April with production starting in May.
