March 26: Seneca Foods, the canning and canmaking firm which produces the Libby’s brand, is donating 2,500 tons of canned foods to Feeding America, the US’s leading hunger-relief organisation.
It is the largest-ever single donation of canned fruits and vegetables to Feeding America. Seneca Foods, based in Janesville, Wisconsin, has 20 processing and canmaking facilities and had sales of about US$1.0 billion in 2009.
