September 2: Libya’s only privately-operated canmaking factory this week celebrates its first anniversary.
Construction of the El-Taibat plant at Benghazi started in May 2008 with the first production of cans in the following September.
It’s part of the Taibat food group which was set up in 2000 by a number of local businessmen with food processing experience to pack legumes, fruit, olives and natural juices on three production lines.
