The market for lightweight aluminium beer bottles is expected to be given a boost in North America when world-leading brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev starts up its own bottle canmaking line next year.
The production line is tipped to be part of the investment being made at the Arnold, Missouri, beverage can plant operated by A-B InBev’s canmaking division Metal Container Corporation. The investment, said to total between $75m and $80m, includes warehousing and, according to A-B InBev, the additional line, although it wasn’t specific about the technology.
