As the recycling rate for metal cans in Europe increased to 73 percent, canmaking industry group Metal Packaging Europe (MPE), which compiles the figures, has called on the authorities to tighten up its packaging waste statistics so that only recycled material is measured, rather than the broader ‘collection for recycling’.
