October 17: Consumers mistakenly believe that that they can’t cook canned products in microwaves.
But canmakers are trying to dispel the myth with metal containers specially designed to exploit the behaviour of microwave ovens, offering food companies new opportunities with ready meals.
Latest canmaker is Ball Corporation in the US which is launching its Fusion-Tek steel can at the Pack Expo trade show in Chicago at the end of October.
