Ardagh Group could be planning to buy other packaging companies after raising 475 million euros (US$648m) from the capital markets.
The Dublin-based canmaker and glass packaging manufacturer, headed by chairman Paul Coulson, bought Impress Metal Packaging last year for 1.7 million euros ($2.3bn) with money raised on the markets.
