May 21: Work has started in Brazil on the expansion of aluminium can recycling capacity at the Novelis mill at Sao Paulo.

Novelis do Brasil Ltda, a subsidiary of Novelis, the world’s leading supplier of aluminium sheet for making cans, is investing US$15 million in the addition of two new furnaces that will increase the plant’s capacity to recycle used beverage cans and other aluminium scrap by one third to 200,000 metric tons per year.
