March 25: With demand for drinks cans in Brazil still surging, Crown Holdings is planning to double the capacity of its joint-venture canmaking plant at Estancia, just weeks after announcing that it would double the planned capacity of its Ponta Grossa plant, construction of which started earlier this month.

US-based Crown’s expansion in Brazil is part of a series of investments in growing markets that includes the building of its fifth beverage can plant in China and expansion of a third plant in Vietnam.
