January 2: Novelis, the world-leading manufacturer of aluminium sheet for making cans, has still been unable to appoint a full-time replacement for its president and chief executive Brian Sturgell, who was sacked at the end of last August.
Today the Atlanta-based company said that Ed Blechschmidt, one of three board members at the Office of the Chairman, would become acting chief executive, succeeding board chairman William Monahan, who had been interim chief executive for four months.
