The North American Metal Packaging Alliance (NAMPA), which represents the interests of canmaking companies and their customers, has issued a statement that details the case for the continued use of bisphenol-A (BPA) in epoxy resin can coatings.
The statement restates the case for BPA as food safety campaigning groups in the US anticipate their hoped-for ban by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the use of the chemical in packaging products.
