April 2: Lee Fairman was last week appointed as the new chairman of the UK’s canmaking industry body, the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association.
He heads an industry with sales worth more than £1 billion making cans for drinks, food, aerosols, industrial and promotional applications.
* In 2006, metal packaging sales in the UK were up 10.5 percent to £1.18bn.
