An optical sensor designed to make monitoring water quality easier in canmaking plants has been launched by Germany’s ProMinent Group, a water treatment and digital fluid management firm.
Dulcoeye LT measures low turbidity, with the technology supporting control and quality assurance, particularly in the areas of drinking water, wastewater, and the beverage industry.
The sensor can be combined with the new single-channel controller Dulcometer diaLog C and detects even minimal changes in the water, sending the measurement data directly to the controller, which adjusts the dosage accordingly. This allows the system to react immediately to changing conditions and makes it suitable for many applications, ProMinent said.
“With the Dulcoeye LT, we are setting a new standard in optical measurement technology. Our goal is to offer users worldwide a solution that combines precision and ease of use,” Andreas Zühlcke, vice president of product management and marketing at ProMinent, said.
The sensor is ready for immediate use, with factory calibration and plug-and-play functionality enabling quick installation and intuitive operation.
Meanwhile, a hydrodynamic self-cleaning principle reduces maintenance requirements, and an algorithm detects and compensates for air bubbles, ensuring that measurements are not disrupted. The compact flow reservoir cell helps to reduce water consumption and ensures short response times.
ProMinent said the Dulcoeye LT turbidity sensor is the first sensor in the new Dulcoeye optical product line and the series will be expanded to include additional measurement parameters in the coming months.
