Novelis and Alcoa part company in recycling

Novelis is to create what it says will be the largest used-beverage-can (UBC) recycling organisation in North America, following an agreement to sell its share of Evermore Recycling to Alcoa.

Currently a joint-venture between Alcoa and Novelis, US-based Evermore – created in 2010 and currently the world’s biggest buyer of UBCs – will become part of Alcoa’s Global Packaging group from the end of August. The two companies had originally agreed to run the joint venture to 2014.
