November 26: Novelis, the world leader in aluminium canstock and drinks can recycling which is owned by India-based Hindalco Industries, has created a new position to lead its global sustainability programme.
John Gardner (pictured) is being appointed chief sustainability officer, and will move from his current position of vice president of human resources and communications for Novelis Europe at the beginning of January. He will report directly to chief operating officer Philip Martens, who is based at the Novelis headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
