Novelis raises canstock capacity in Asia

March 20: A two-year project by Novelis to expand aluminium canstock capacity at its rolling mill in Korea has been completed.
The US$30 million expansion by Novelis Korea Limited at Yeongju covers a range of products including sheet for cans, ends and tabs and will meet growing demand for a wider variety of beverage can sizes in Asia and the Middle East.
Novelis, with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, is the world’s leading manufacturer of aluminium sheet and is now owned by India-based Hindalco. It was originally spun off from primary aluminium producer Alcan three years ago.
