Novelis ups can sheet production in Brazil

May 30: Novelis is increasing capacity for making aluminium can sheet in Brazil, where production of beverage cans grew 13.5 percent in 2007.
Novelis do Brasil is planning to invest US$30m in process technology and equipment upgrades at its rolling mill and recycling centre in Pindamonhangaba.
President and chief operating officer Martha Finn Brooks said: “These investments will allow us to continue to meet the demand of the rapidly growing markets in South America as well as provide a technology platform from which we can expand our offering of innovative, high-value products to our customers.”
