February 15: Four packaging steel production lines – two tinplate and two tin-free – are being planned by Yichang Three Gorges Quantong Colored and Galvanized Plate Co, in Hubei province, central China.
To be supplied by Tenova of Italy, the four high-speed electrolytic lines – tinning systems using insoluble anode technology and chromium-coating systems – will have a total production capacity of 1 million tonnes a year when commissioned in mid 2011. (updated February 17)
