March 30: A record 38 billion aluminium drinks cans – about a fifth of all those made worldwide – were recycled through Novelis last year, equating to more than half-a-million tonnes of the metal. Atlanta-based Novelis is the world’s leading producer of aluminium sheet for making cans.
