April 8: As Coors hosted its annual distributor convention in Denver, Colorado, today, it revealed its advertising campaign for a canned beer that pours like a draft. Launched this month, it uses its newly designed Vented Wide Mouth Can on Coors Light.
It will be used to celebrate the new tax year in the US on April 15 which is being renamed “National Venting Day”.
Coors, which was the first brewer to used aluminium cans in 1959, says it’s the industry’s first can with a built-in vent.
It features a lid with an 8 percent wider opening beside which is a panel to vent the can, minimising the glugging effect.
