Rexam’s canmaking plant at Águas Claras in southern Brazil has been awarded a Shingo Prize for its operational excellence.

The award – called the ‘Nobel Prize of manufacturing’ by Business Week magazine – recognises that Rexam has joined an elite group of companies that work using the principles of Japanese industrial engineer Shigeo Shingo, who distinguished himself as one of the world’s leading experts in improving manufacturing processes.
