Europe’s leading beverage canmaking firm Rexam has started making aluminium ends that are lighter by 10 percent and expects to have capacity to make six billion a year by the end of 2012.
New equipment to make the ends has been installed in the Rexam plant at Waterford in Ireland where up to 2.5 billion will be made alongside lines which make standard ends.
