January 7: Bill Barker, group director of Rexam’s beverage can operations, today stepped down from the London-based company’s board and will leave the company at the end of February.
The surprise move follows what Rexam calls a streamlining of its global beverage can leadership.
Chief executive Leslie Van de Walle will take over Barker’s responsibilities, which represent about two-thirds of the company’s business with sales of £3.6 billion in 2007.
