October 12: The 24oz aluminium cans used by the Genesee Brewery on its new $3.5 million filling line at Rochester, New York, are just part of growing demand for the novel format being supplied in the US by market leader Rexam.
Genesee started filling the cans on September 16, as reported on The Filling Business web site.
According to Nielsen data, single-serve containers, such as the 24 oz can, account for more than 50 percent of beer unit sales in convenience stores.
