Russian canmaker expands plant in Krasnodar Krai

Tokk Metalpak, one of Russia’s leading producers of easy-to-open ends and tinplate cans, is investing RUB1.1 billion (USD13 million) to modernise its plant in Krasnodar Krai.

The canmaker, which produces cans and ends in a range of sizes, is installing a new varnishing line at its facility in the Kurganinsky District in Southern Russia.

The capacity of the new line has not been disclosed, but in addition, a 14,000 sqm warehouse is also being built at the facility, creating 100 new jobs.

In February, Tokk Metalpak commissioned large-scale production of tinplate cans and ends in Krasnodar Krai. The facility has the capacity to produce up to 225 million units per year.

Thw cans are made from varnished and lithographed tinplate and uses both domestic raw materials, in addition to tinplate imported from Belarus and China.

The Krasnodar authority provided support for the project, primarily in the form of tax and customs exemptions.

The facility produces a range of up to 40 can and end sizes, supplying the needs of Krasnodar fruit and vegetable processors as well as other domestic customers.

Implementation of the project is key to Krasnodar Krai because it is one of the leading regions in Russia for the production and processing of agricultural products.

According to statistics from the local RBC Krasnodar business paper, from January to July 2025, Krasnodar Krai produced 737 million cans of fruit and vegetables, an increase of 7.6% year-on-year.

Russia’s SPARK service says that Tokk Metallpak was registered in the Moscow Region in 2024. Its main activity is the production of lightweight packaging. Revenue in 2025 exceeded RUB2.3 billion.
