May 17: Second-quarter sales for paints and coatings manufacturer Valspar showed significant improvement over last year, totaling US$803.6 million, up 20.2 percent.
Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Valspar is also the largest supplier of coatings to the global canmaking industry.
Net profit for the three months to the end of April almost doubled to $61.7m, compared with the same period of 2009.
