February 12: Scottish & Newcastle today confirmed that it will close its Berkshire Brewery operations in the UK by 2010. The facility includes a number of canning lines.
The announcement follows a decision in November 2007 to cease filling at the site and transfer 3 million hectolitres of beer production – which includes brands such as Kronenbourg 1664 and San Miguel – to Coors Brewers at Burton-on-Trent under a contract brewing agreement.
