October 18: Tinplate manufacturer Corus Packaging Plus (CPP) will increase its prices by 6 percent for all deliveries from the beginning of 2008.
The increase is lower than expected. ArcelorMittal plans to increase its tinplate prices by 15 percent.
In a statement Netherlands-based CPP said: “While the demand for high quality packaging steels, including technical and logistical services and innovation support, remains robust, CPP is facing significant cost increases in many areas, particularly raw materials.
