February 20: Hormel Foods, which yesterday reported volume growth in its grocery products up 2 percent in the first quarter of 2009, is launching Spam in China.
The move follows success in other Asian markets, especially Korea where the spiced ham has encouraged the growth of similar canned luncheon meats.
We are launching the Spam family of products in China,” said Marianne Pollock, senior product manager of the Spam family of products for Hormel Foods International, based in Austin, Minnesota.
