January 25: Capacity at Ball Asia Pacific’s beverage can plant in southern China has been increased by almost a third with a speed-up package.
Installation of a second decorator at the wholly-owned plant at Shenzen, near Hong Kong, has contributed to an increased line speed to 2,300cpm and capacity to make 33cl and 35cl aluminium cans from 650 million to 850 million units a year.
The refurbished decorator, which runs at up to 2,200cpm to provide extra flexibility on the line, was supplied through Rosario in the Netherlands.
