September 29: Sales for the drinks firm behind the iconic Scottish Irn-Bru brand were up by 27 percent to £104.7 million (US$167m) in the six months to the end of July.

The Irn-Bru brand itself grew by 6.5 percent with strong gains in England and Wales. In August, A G Barr launched five million ‘heritage’ cans of Irn-Bru featuring the original label design used in 1947 (pictured).
