A promotional campaign encouraging UK households to recycle metal packaging, backed by members of the canmaking industry, achieved a number of successes in 2012.

The MetalMatters campaign is backed by Ball, Crown and Rexam through industry body Beverage Can Makers Europe (BCME), as well as Ardagh, and aims to promote the environmental benefits of recycling metal packaging to consumers, as well as encouraging local authorities to improve and expand recycling schemes.
