One-litre aluminium beer cans, already established in Russia, have been introduced into Germany by Carlsberg.
The Danish brewer is using the two-piece D&I aluminium cans made by Rexam for its Tuborg Pilsener brand, launching the super-size product in March.
German consumers will be familiar with the volume, through the three-piece tinplate one-litre cans already in the market. But Carlsberg made the move in response to “growing consumer demand for an alternative” to the tinplate cans.
