Syria's Al-Akram benefits from fewer imports

The canmaking business in Syria is benefitting from a decline in food cans imported into the country from Turkey. Damascus-based food can manufacturer Al-Akram for Metal Industries says it is working full time to meet demand.

In August, Al-Akram produced 4.5 million food cans, up 15 percent from previous months, and 20 percent up year-on-year.
